TRAINER
- Yoga Alliance E-RYT® 500
- Ειδίκευση: Raja Yoga, Karma Yoga
I am Ioanna Stamataki, a certified yoga teacher with more than 700 hours of training, specializing in Raja Yoga, Karma Yoga, meditation and breathing techniques. I am fascinated by teaching the philosophy of yoga as, focusing on the theoretical approach, we find practical applications of its principles in everyday life.
From a young age, I was interested in philosophy, the study of human nature and internalization, elements that led me to a deeper involvement with yoga and meditation. From an early age I was exposed to the yoga environment doing mostly meditation and karma yoga classes within Raja Yoga (Bihar school of yoga / Zen and the art of saving the planet Plum Village Thich Nhat Hahn) and was fortunate to be around teachers who showed and taught me different ways of approaching the self through yoga.
Discipleship for me is a refuge and an elixir of life. With the passage of time I completed my yoga studies at Anahata Yoga Academy (500YTT) with Elena Mouratidou and I am also involved in karma yoga as a special training, providing feeding to our fellow human beings in need (homeless, refugees). Following this path I specialized in karma yoga, the yoga of giving and since 2013 I have been an administrative member of a Social Cooperative Enterprise specialized in this field with large missions in Idomeni, Evia and Ukraine.
I also have significant professional experience in the field of event organisation and public relations, having worked for 15 years at the Thessaloniki Film Festival. These years of experience have provided me with valuable skills in human resource management, teamwork and strategic planning, skills that I now apply in teaching and educational programmes at a Creative Employment Centre for children in need.
I have attended programs in Positive Psychology at Yale University and Corporate Social Responsibility at Bocconi University.
My love of the philosophy of the science of yoga, the study of Raja Yoga and great philosophical texts, and the practice of Karma Yoga have given me many gifts. Mainly the ability to explain theoretical concepts and principles of yoga in an understandable and simple way, but above all to give this knowledge practical applications in everyday life and in a way that are tools for everyday life.
I love books, music and spending time with my family. I also love traveling a lot. And especially what they leave me when I return.
